Rubrics are the heart of Lumen. They make AI-assisted evaluation explainable and reviewable.

What a good rubric includes​

A practical pilot rubric includes:

  • question number
  • maximum marks
  • expected answer
  • key concepts
  • mandatory points
  • optional points
  • common mistakes
  • teacher instruction
  • strictness level

Suggested marks are review inputs​

Lumen presents suggested marks as review inputs. Teachers see the answer evidence, explanation, missing concepts, and confidence before approving or overriding.

Override decisions matter​

Overrides are not failures. They are signals that help the institution learn:

  • where rubrics need improvement
  • which questions were ambiguous
  • where extraction quality was weak
  • where moderation pressure is highest

Review completion​

Finalization requires teacher approval. Export depends on review policy, not raw AI output.
